The author of The Pride of Noonlay, Shncice Ndlovu is a Zimbabwean writer who desrcibes her stories as innate and believes that "when the stories come, they cannot sit, they must betold" her work mainly consits of short stories under the genre of Epic Fantasy. Shanice has previously published short stories in local anthologies such as Botsotso and the K&L prize. The pride of Noonlay is her debut collection of shortstories which was publishedin 2020 by Modjadji Books.

In 2020, Shanice was crowned Africas ultimate storyteller by Hadithi Ya Africa while one of her stories, 'A water heart" was recently nominated for the NMMO speculative fiction awards. She currently runs a poetry podcast called the poedcast which can be found on spotify
